We Need NEW PRIORITES for Jobs and Human Needs

We reject the blame and punishment directed at working people for budget crises that originated not from workers and their unions, but from irresponsible corporate behavior. We do not accept that the cuts are inevitable because “there is no money.” There’s a lot of money available if we change our priorities.
We call for new priorities in this country that put urgent human needs ahead of war and military spending. Many state budget deficits would be completely eliminated if even half the taxes people in that state sent to Washington for war would be redirected to aid state programs.
Without labor solidarity, nothing will stand between the people and total corporate control of this country. Let there be no doubt: the attack on unions is intended to remove the last significant organizational obstacle to complete corporate control, and with it the destruction of the New Deal and Great Society reforms on which working people, the poor and the most vulnerable populations rely.
